Bike Tour 2003
In 2003 we set out from Zug, it was our first real bike tour.
The way went past Rotkreuz to Lucerne along the river Reuss. From there we went all the way up to the Brünig pass on about 1000 metres above sea level which was the peak of that tour. From there went down to find a camping in Brienz for the night, a very nice place in the bernese mountains. This first day we did almost 100 kilometres.
The second day took us along the lake of Brienz and the lake of Thun past Interlaken and Thun. The rest of the day we drove along the River Aare with destination Bern. There we spent the night in the youth hostel. This day we made a good 80 kilometres.
The third day took us through a nice landscape to Fribourg and from there to the lake of Greyerz where we intended to set up our tents. But the camping was closed so we moved on to Bulle and took a room in a Hotel.
The fourth and last day we had quite had it, so we just made a few more kilometres to Vevey. These last kilometres were absolutely beautiful, especially the decent to Vevey which took us through the vineyards along the Lake Geneva. Here we took the train back to Zug.
All in all this is a tour to be recommended to anyone who does not want to climb over high mountains and still likes to see a lot of beautiful places of Switzerland.
