Bike Tour 2004

2004 the start was again in Zug.

The first day we went up to Andermatt. That part of the tour is described in detail in the Tour 2006 article, first day, which also includes photos.

So we camped in Andermatt on 1400 metres above sea level and the next day we went west over the Furka which meant another 1000 metres altitude difference. Then came the fun part, the descent down to the Oberwallis and further west until we reached Brig where we found a peaceful camping below the motorway-bridge of the way to Italy.

Nevertheless we slept perfectly, and the next morning we went on to Sion, from where we took the train back to Zug.

This tour is hard at the first day and the next ascent to the Furka. But from there it is relatively easy and the landscape of the Wallis is especially beautiful.
