Tour 2005 |
In autumn 2005, there was that bad feeling of not having been on a real bike tour the whole year. So
we decided to do at least a smaller, one day trip. The start was again in
Zug, the destination as well. And we
stayed in central Switzerland, we just went around the Rigi that day.
Weather was just perfect, although it was not very warm anymore. Temperatures were just around 20 degrees in the sun. We first made our way to Unterägeri and Sattel, where this picture was taken. |
We then enjoyed the way down to Schwyz
and Brunnen from where we drove along
the lake to Vitznau where it was time for a break.

Even though this trip was not that hard, we still had the need to feed; and we found a kiosk in
Gersau where cold beer could be bought...

Interestingly we made our break right below a chestnut tree, and the chestnuts were already ripe.

Some of them already fell down, but most were still hanging in the tree. We were willing to take some
extra effort to get these down, for we planned to extend the list of that days food. They really looked
delicious.

With our bags now packed with some extra weight, we continued our trip around the Rigi, came past
Weggis and
Kuessnacht and went to
Immensee and there a little north to
the forest next to the lake.
There we did what we like most (next to biking) - eating. |
Next to other stuff, we were about to put the chestnuts on the fire, but therefore the fire had to be ready first.

With our bellys properly filled, we then made our way back to Zug. In the end, it was not the same as a tour of several days, but nevertheless it was fun. |
Transport
