Fronalpstock
Fronalpstock seen from Morschach
This hike trip starts in Morschach in the canton Schwyz. Morschach can easily be reached by bus from Brunnen, it just takes 15 minutes from there.
Note however, that this trip leads partly over alpine trails which are suitable for unexperienced hikers free from guiddiness.
Fronalpstock from Euw
The rocks below the summit
The way leads from the cable car station in Morschach directly up. The first goal is the Alp Euw. There is a small cottage with a well and an opportunity to sit.
It is from there where the white-blue-white marked alpine trail starts. It is possible however to take the normal white-red-white trail to the right, which is easier but takes longer to get to the top.

The Urnersee
The Urnersee with its unique green colour
The way is nice to the Alp Euw, but the alpine Chälenweg is absolutely great. Especially in June, there are many different flowers flourishing and the colour of the Urnersee is wonderful.
The trail leads through grass with smaller fir trees. Already here there it is pretty steep and there are some big steps to take.
The way through the rocks
Part of the alpine way below the summit
And then the most interesting part starts. As soon as one gets to the rocks below the top. From now on one has to use its hands every now and then. At the most difficult locations there are fixed ropes to assist in the climb.
The view from the Fronalpstock
The Urner Alps and the Urnersee from the Fronalpstock
After passing through the rocky area, one soon reaches the summit. There a great view presents itself. Many peaks of the canton Uri, the Mythen and much more can be seen. And to the west the Urnersee, part of the Lake Lucerne with its unique green colour.
From the top, there are several possibilities to get down again. Easiest is to walk down to Stoos and take the cable car to Morschach or the cable railway to the Muotatal.
More insteresting would be taking the way to Riemenstalden. It will be longer, and there is one thing. Only two buses per day leave from Riemenstalden to Brunnen, so make sure to catch the one in the afternoon.
